title: Agent
description: Connect an agent with Superior Skills and the Superior MCP server.
---

Use both layers for a complete agent setup:

- **Superior Skills** provide the operating playbook: onboarding, research, backtesting, risk checks, and deployment rules.
- **Superior MCP** provides live tools that the agent can call against your account.

## Install Superior Skills

The source for the complete skill library is [Superior-Trade/superior-skills](https://github.com/Superior-Trade/superior-skills). Start with the `superior-trade` skill, which routes the agent through account setup, funding, strategy selection, backtesting, and deployment.

For agent harnesses that support the Agent Skills installer:

```bash
npx skills add Superior-Trade/superior-skills
```

For OpenClaw, install the published and owner-qualified ClawHub skill:

```bash
openclaw skills install @superior-ai/superiortrade
```

To expose it to all local OpenClaw agents, add `--global`. Confirm the installed skill with `openclaw skills list`.

## Connect Superior MCP

Add Superior MCP with [the installation guide](https://api.superior.trade/install.txt). It has copyable configuration for Codex, Claude, Cursor, VS Code, OpenClaw, Hermes Agent, and `mcpc` testing.

The server is `https://api.superior.trade/mcp` over Streamable HTTP. Authenticate with `SUPERIOR_TRADE_API_KEY` in the `x-api-key` header.

MCP-capable clients can discover the server through `https://api.superior.trade/.well-known/mcp.json`.

Keep the API key in your harness's environment or credential manager. Never include it in prompts, source files, or logs.

## Recommended setup

1. Install Superior Skills so the agent follows the validated research-to-deployment workflow.
2. Add Superior MCP so the agent has live Superior tools.
3. Ask the agent to begin with a backtest. It must present a deployment summary and receive your explicit confirmation before starting live trading.
